Book Club and Friendships
Well, we had a busy weekend that involved family, good friends and lots of eating! Friday night we had Will's folks over for a low-country boil. One of the great things we brought back from Savannah. It's an easy, fast and great meal for entertaining... everything cooks together in one pot, dump out the water and dinner is served... al fresco, of course! Saturday we took my Land Rover back (boo hoo), as its lease was up. Actually, not a traumatic experience. I'm so glad to be rid of that gas guzzling tank. My new car runs on diesel and gets nearly 600 miles a tank!!! I'll try to post some pictures of it later. Anyway, after a quick stop at the farmers market for fresh corn and flowers, we headed home to get ready for the arrival of my "book club" and their families for a cook-out. I call it a "book club" lightly, as we have decided to be a "chick lit" club , only reading light-hearted, fluff! AND since none of us cared for the book we just read, we invited families along for the fun. Sunday was a great, lazy day of much needed rain. I got some more painting done (up on the really tall ladder). We had another dinner party Sunday night at our friends Coy and Niki. They are having a baby any day now, so I think they wanted to get in one last dinner party before they become "responsible parents".... LOL... I think they'll end up being like Will and I... just drag the baby along everywhere, no big deal! Anyhow... we had a great weekend! Taylor and I are home today resting from the busy weekend. I didn't think to take ANY pictures this weekend, so I snapped a few of Taylor playing on the porch last night. Have a great week!
