Summer is Upon Us

I see that I haven't posted in a week! We have been super busy this week... Dr. Hedrick and Merrie are out of town so I have been working different hours, having different babysitters, and been on call for the office and nursing home all week. It's just twisted our normal routine around a bit and those with children know how this can be sort of overwhelming! Taylor has actually done very well with all the changes. We're back to our normal routine this week!

The title of this post reflects the HOT weather that has snuck up on us. It has been over 90 most of the week... beautiful summer weather, but HOT! I have finally had to break down and turn on the AC. I hate AC, but it must be done when it is this hot. Luckily all of the pools have opened this week! Taylor and I went to our neighborhood pool yesterday (a first for Taylor) and she was a little unsure. We've played in the little baby pool, but she has not been in a big pool yet (swim lessons don't start till next week). I blew up the little baby float that she sits in with her feet and butt in the water and she absolutely LOVED it! She had the biggest smile on her face the entire time. I didn't have the camera with me, but I'll try to get some pictures today. AND it is amazing how much water those swim diapers can hold! Taylor weighed a good 5-10 lbs more coming out of the pool. Anyway, hot again today, so we may try the YMCA pools. Oh yeah, the picture is Taylor playing in one of our sprinklers. Will turned them on last night and she crawled (still not walking) right to it and started playing!

See the brown spots in the grass, Dad! But thanks for killing the weeds!
